Further tips
This kit and guide should not replace your regular bath routine. You should separate the two. Use a special word or other way to indicate the end of play time and the start of bath time (and hair washing etc.).

When enrolling in swimming lessons...
In the lead up to swimming lessons, it is a good idea to go and watch other swimming lessons with no pressure so that they are familiar with the environment.
Check to see if they need to wear a swimming cap. If so, make sure to get a cloth cap. Even if they don’t have to wear one, we still recommend wearing a cloth cap to protect their hair from their goggles.
This is because getting hair tangled with goggles hurts. Make sure to get easily adjustable goggles that mean that you don’t have to squeeze their head. You can find these available from Speedo and Zoggs.
These goggles also mean that they will be able to do it themselves when they are older. To put goggles on, start the goggles at their greatest length and no tightness at all before putting onto their eyes. Tighten once on eyes.
Tips for
new-borns
<6 months
Fantastic! They will likely be ready to start swimming lessons at the pool at 6-12 months.
Even once swimming lessons have started, continue using the kit and guide as an exciting ritual before a calm bath or bedtime.
Bath 2-3 times a week. More than this will dry out their skin.
Bath time should only be 5-10 mins. They lose body heat quickly, so no more than this.
Water should be 36°C - 38°C.
